Two communication options ready to deploy with the Nomad family — pick the one that fits your operating area and budget.

Offshore Nomad — Iridium Service

Offshore Nomads provide Iridium Short Burst Data bidirectional communications with true global coverage. Sampling and transmission intervals can be configured in real time by the user.

  • One-time activation: 55 € — paid at the start of operations or when resuming after a pause.
  • Monthly subscription: 27 € — keeps communications operative with 600 messages/month, enough for over 12 positions per day plus configuration and search operations.
  • Alternative subscriptions available for higher communication rates.

Coastal Nomad — GSM Service

Coastal Nomads are supplied ready to use in coastal zones under GSM coverage. No need to worry about communications — they are provided with the buoy at no cost.

  • Switching the buoy on is all you need to start operations worldwide.
  • Two years of communications included with each unit.
  • Reliable in coverage zones up to ~7 miles offshore.

LDManager is the tool that allows users to access information collected by the drifting buoys

  • Check the latest position of each device and export received data in different formats (text, spreadsheet, kmz, matlab and more).
  • View the status of configured alarms and edit the list of recipients who receive notifications of these alarms.
  • Perform different settings of the parameters of devices such as the sampling interval and the software version.
